The Innovation Hub for Urban Water, Sanitation and Hygiene or IHUWASH is a collaborative initiative between the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) and Ennovent. The three-year project is supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and aims to improve the performance of urban WASH programs using a collaborative framework, incorporating both private and public participation. In 2018, Ennovent conducted a funding landscape study of the sustainable livelihoods sector in India. Sustainable livelihoods efforts in India comprise a vast set of interventions, cutting across diverse communities, objectives and impact strategies. The sector encompasses agricultural and related activities, handicrafts, tourism, skill development, entrepreneurship and innovation, among others. Ennovent and Trail Angels GmbH are excited to have initiated a new business venture, Fair Trail Himalayas, which aims to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly trekking trails in the Himalayas. The venture will develop, market and manage new trails for an immersive experience of the local culture and environment, and devise benefit sharing mechanisms for local populations. Founded in 1987 by chocolatier Josef Zotter, Zotter is an Austrian company with a product range of over 400 varieties of chocolate, such as ‘Brazil Nut Nougat with Jungle Pepper’ and ‘Passion Fruit and Caramel with Thyme’. With a focus on innovation and sustainability, they work with 100% organic ingredients of fair-trade quality and physical traceability.
