Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, who launched the Spark Fund with a vision to support clean cooking businesses with pre-investment grant capital, enlisted Ennovent and I-DEV as its due diligence partners.
Ennovent and I-Dev designed and implemented a rigorous due diligence process to screen clean cookstoves organisations in India, Kenya and Uganda shortlisted as Spark Fund III finalists. The due diligence entailed field visits to each finalist to assess their business plan and growth strategy, bookkeeping systems, and impact screening.
GACC received detailed due diligence reports which informed the selection of the finalists and winners for its Spark Fund Awards. Since its inception in 2000, GDN has awarded roughly US$ 4 million in research and project grants to finalists and winners.
